“The French Impressionists”
by Sandra Bingham
Regarded as revolutionaries, the Impressionists broke away from the strictly academic art of the past and paved the way for Modern Art.
Their joyous impressions of the world around them are some of the best loved, highly
prized and most expensive Works of Art in the world.
Sandra will take Monet as the central figure and examine his style and the relationship of his work with the other great Impressionists of the time.
The lecture will be accompanied by a multitude of excellent slides - yes, good old fashioned slides!
Sandra Bingham specialises in History of Art. She started lecturing in 1996 and is
very recently retired. She is also a linguist, having a BA in French & Spanish.
We are delighted that we have been able to entice Sandra out of retirement, for one evening only, to deliver her lavishly illustrated Lecture on the French Impressionists.
At the conclusion of the lecture we will serve Tea, Coffee & Biscuits and you will
have a chance to chat with the Lecturer.
If you are not a Member and would like to attend please phone or text
Rupert on 07831 135 226 anytime to secure a seat.
